Minn Kota is a company which has been providing one of the greatest arrays of electric trolling motors in North America since 1934, when it was established in the town of Fargo, North Dakota. Before having invented the first electric trolling motor, O. G. Schmidt, the company founder, had been constructing copper soldering torches in his facility in Wheatland, North Dakota.
