Arco is a manufacturer, full-service provider, and distributor of new OEM products and remanufactured electrical components of starting and charging systems of marine engines. The enterprise opened its doors for business in 1960. In their 100,000-square-foot facility in Pensacola, Florida, they manage to produce new Arco marine parts from the ground up, test them, and restore the functionality of used components. All products undergo the most stringent quality control procedures in an in-house and testing facility to make sure they meet all OEM standards.

Arco plant is fully equipped with state-of-the-art computerized assembly lines and other cutting-edge equipment used for rigorous testing of each and every unit to ensure their long and trouble-free service life. It includes fully automated digital permanent magnet and wire-wound motor load testers. Using this equipment, the company’s specialists can effectively test inboard and outboard starters, tilt/trim motors, and hydraulic pump assemblies way beyond their normal operating conditions. Arco starters come in all shape and sizes to fit the electrical system of a wide range of marine vessels, starting from small fishing boats and ending with huge battleships. Company’s products work well in all types of D.C. voltage systems.

Some Arco marine starter motors are designed to rotate the crankshaft clockwise, and others counterclockwise. Moisture is the number one reason why some parts of the boat’s electrical system malfunction prematurely. Arco boat starters are designed and manufactured with corrosion protection in mind. Nickel-plated armature shafts are fitted with silicon-laminated steel stacks. On top, the layer of powder coating is added for better insulation and corrosion prevention. Products are tested even in the early stages of assembly to uncover and correct potential faults. The commutator face is polished on the computerized lathe to reduce friction and brushes wear to the minimum. The layer of varnish is added above the windings to help hold them securely in place and dissipate heat. At the end of the assembly line, the final computerized full load performance test is conducted.
