SOLAS Approved Passive Radar Reflector for Inflatables by Echomax®. Included on United State Coast Guard list of accepted radar reflectors. 3 piece mounting kit: 247gms (optional extra). The 18 inch octahedral array is built into a round inflatable radar reflector for easy deployment under extreme conditions. The A03i Inflatable specifically designed for liferaft deployment, they can be safely vacuum sealed into a liferaft then those designed from rigid metal plates. The A03i is built from 28 components interconnected with 17 ultrasonic welding operations inside a three piece airtight 24" round PVC case, inflated orally or by pump. Included on United States Coast Guard list of accepted radar reflectors.

EMAO3I Certified to Schedule 4, Part 4, Paragraph 1.1.14 of the Merchant Shipping (life saving appliances Regulations 1986 and hence chapter III, Regulation 38.5.1.14 of the 1983 Amendments to the International Convention for Safety of Life At Sea (SOLAS) 1974. Suitable for stowage in liferaft emergency packs up to 36 m above sea level as required by IMO Specification annexed to UK Merchant Shipping Notice M. 1485, 1991, published by the Department of Transport, Marine Directorate. MED 1485 states that the radar reflector should be mounted 1.5 meters above sea level. The three piece mounting kit ensures that by using the two fixings on the side of the reflector the array is correctly positioned.Incorrect positioning will render the reflector useless or ineffective and as the manufacturer we feel that we have a duty of care to draw this to the attention of all purchasers. A life raft is virtually invisible to radar and sea trials by a Norwegian Navy helicopter displayed on the radar screen a life raft fitted with the EMA03i mounted on a three glass fiber mounting kit at 4 nm.
