Although a fishing line is one of the simplest and most familiar fishing accessories, there is a number of factors to consider when choosing the best one. There are no 'one-size-fits-all' solutions here – the choice of the right fishing line depends on the location you fish, the fishing technique you prefer, the rod, reel, and bait you select, etc. We carry all types of lines in a variety of diameter, stiffness, weight, and color options. A monofilament line is right for all levels of fishing skills and knot types; those who are into deep sea fishing need an abrasion-resistant braided line, while ultra-thin fluorocarbon lines are great for fly fishing.

A fishing leader is a section of the line that connects the hook to the main line. Some anglers, like those engaged in fresh water fishing, do not use leaders at all, although these line-protecting strands and wires can make a big difference in many scenarios. The leader prevents sharp-toothed fish from cutting the line, makes heavy leads and lures easier to cast, provides some stretch, and in some cases reduces line visibility. Just like the main lines, leaders come in many material choices that range from nylon and fluorocarbon to stainless steel and titanium.
