Sound is a powerful means of signaling a position or warning. That is exactly why an efficient sound producing device is part of the U.S. Coast Guard required safety equipment on every boat. A horn or a whistle is obligatory on smaller boats, while large vessels must also carry a ship bell. It is also highly recommended that every life jacket on board have a whistle attached to it, enabling audible signaling in overboard situations. In our store, you’ll find a wide selection of whistles, sold individually or in batches.
It doesn’t make much sense to use a whistle that produces a weak sound that can’t be heard. What you’ll find on our digital shelves is a selection of loud whistles which are audible from afar and above the typical sound background on the water, which combines the wind, waves, and engine roar. Most of them come with lanyards and clips to attach to a PFD, immersion suit, raft, etc., and we also have combo units that feature an LED light, signal mirror, thermometer, magnifying glass, and compass. Some of the whistles have a special design which prevents them from holding water.
